Indian Theekar Aseel Murga King Line Aseel Malik Aseels Asil Gamefowl Breed by Moaawiz Malik, Gamefowl And Aseel Farm. 

● Indian Theekar Aseel is a large Asil from Southern India (and Bangladesh). These large Asil are mainly found in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala but also in Bangladesh. These large and heavy birds upto ± 5 Kg (11 Lbs) are fought in nakedheels but also used for knife-fighting. The birds are armed with only one big doubled edged knife which is tied under the foot. 

-This also makes an end to an American cocker tale saying that Asil run if hit with steel (a quote from the The Gamecock magazine). 

According Mr.Mullapudi Narendranath from Andhra Pradesh the knife-fighting style has been adopted from the Malaysian peninsula and was introduced into India by the South Indian Dravidians, people with great seafaring skills. After years of research (since 1997) I have come to the conclusion that these birds are the true ancestors of the birds we today know as "Malays". South Indian Asil show beside having peacombs also very often walnut combs (locally known as theeker / theekar) and a wing carriage higher carried then the -regular- large Asil (remark-not like the up pointing shoulders like the Japanese Shamo).

● An interesting variety of these large Asil are the birds with a socalled parrot-beak and a very long tail. These are not ornamental birds but genuine fighting fowl !
