▪Reza Is An Aseel Breed That Belongs Basically To Mianwali Pakistan.
The Reza is a small Asil with a weight not exceeding a weight of about 3 Kg (6.6 Lbs). This group of Asil reached worldwide popularity due to books and articles written by the English gamefowl expert Herbert Atkinson, Siran and Paul Deraniyagala from Sri Lanka and Carlos Finsterbusch from Chile.
▪According Herbert Atkinson purebred Asil should not exceed the weight of 3 Kg (6.6 Lbs). At present day the "classic" strains and names given mentioned by Atkinson are more or less forgotten. Anyone with a bit of breeding experience will understand that after many decades the vitality of a bloodline slowly will be prone to degeneration.
▪Remark: the native people in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka only know the Reza-type Asil by their local names such as Mianwali aseel.
▪Pure form of this breed is mainly found in Mianwali district of Pakistan. However, this breed has risen to popularity in Pakistan, currently the primary gamefowl breed used in the pits also preferred by gamblers and breeders. It is smaller compared to other Aseels weighing between 1.5 and 3.5 kg depending on the preference of shokeen. It is the fastest aseel and the best head hitter, usually comes in small to medium height. A good Mianwali Aseel should destroy or beat its opponent within a few minutes. They are known to kill bigger roosters because of their speed, accuracy, agility and bravery.
These birds come in various colours such as Java or jawa (duckwing), Lakha or lal (reddish), mushka (black), Peela (yellow rooster) and various others depending on the combination used in breeding. HARD and BRAVE fighter with ATTITUDE to INSPIRE, excellent in naked heels and metal spurs. (Khulon k be taj badshah)
A good Mianwali rooster would usually have chicks of a similar quality. Typical description of this breed is:
1. small curved beak
2. strong joints
3. pearl/white/yellow eye colour
4. short crow
5. small comb
6. Do not have heavy body structure.
They look smaller than other gamefowl breeds but is excellent spurer (Kari baz murgha)
Mianwali aseel in my opinion is "Pride of Pakistan" and we (as a gamefowl breeder farm) are trying to preserve it's pure form at "Gamefowl and Aseel Farm" located in Islamabad.
